| Each year the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission awards between 350 and 400 grants totalling nearly $7,000,000 to museums (including aquariums, arboretums, art museums, botanical gardens, children's museums, history museums, historic houses/sites, military and maritime museums, natural history museums, nature centers, planetariums, science and technology centers and zoos), colleges and universities, historical societies, libraries, local governments, conservancies, historic preservation organizations, heritage organizations, schools and school districts, community groups, and other historical and educational organizations. These grants support a large number of organizations and a wide variety of projects.
This interactive database allows you to access and sort information about grants awarded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission over the past three years. You are able to see what kinds of projects are being funded, what historic resources are being preserved and which organizations are receiving general operating support. There is information to allow you to contact your colleagues to discuss similar projects, collaborate on future projects and perhaps receive some guidance on how to prepare a successful grant application.
