Thank you for visiting the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum
Commission's grants website. The Commission is the official
history agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Listed below are descriptions and links to the various sections
of the PHMC website. Contact information for the various grants
program staff is located on the Directory. Please contact
a grants staff member if you cannot find information on the
website.
2009 Certified Local Government
(CLG) Grants
Applications are now being received for Federal Fiscal Year
2009 Historic Preservation Certified Local Government (CLG)
Grants through the PHMC's Bureau for Historic Preservation.
Municipalities do not have to achieve CLG status by the time
the grant application is due, but if awarded a grant, they
must have achieved CLG status by the contract start date in
order to receive grant funds. Projects undertaken between
August 1, 2009 and July 31, 2010 are eligible.
The deadline for CLG grant applications is January 15, 2009.
This is a federally funded reimbursement grant program requiring
a 50%/50% match. Approximately $95,000 will be awarded through
a competitive selection process contingent on availability
of federal funds. For information on how to become a Certified
Local Government or to discuss the program in detail, please
contact Michel R. Lefevre at (717) 787-0771 or mlefevre@state.pa.us.
2008 PHMC Grant Workshops
PHMC recently completed the Fall series of grant workshops
to assist organizations with the preparation of PHMC grant
applications. The workshops provided an overview of the grant
program, upcoming changes to the program, eGrant instructions
and the opportunity to meet with all of the PHMC grant program
managers. If you missed the workshop, PHMC encourages you
to contact a grant program manager to discuss your potential
project. You may also download a
pdf version (2 MB file size) of the Grant Workshop
presentation and a pdf
version (464 Kb file size) of the eGrant instruction
presentation for an overview of the program.
2008-2009 General Operating Support
and Project Grant Awards
Due to a recent announcement for all PA Commonwealth Agencies
to reduce budgets, PHMC is in the process of adjusting the
Grant Program budget. As a result, official notification and
distribution of grant agreements is delayed. Additional information
may be availabel in January 2009. If you have any questions,
please contact Scott Doyle at (717) 783-6012 or midoyle@state.pa.us.
