       Maestro Lauffer is currently in his twelfth season as Music Director and Conductor of the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra.  Maestro Lauffer earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from West Virginia University where he studied conducting with Don Wilcox, Donald Portnoy (another previous conductor of the PCO), and Jerry Goldsmith.  He received his Master of Music Degree in 1987 from Baylor University.  Maestro Lauffer is the  Music Director and Conductor of The Royal Sylvan Philharmonic, which performs at Nemacolin Woodlands Spa and Resort, and in the Pittsburgh area.  Mr. Lauffer has taught on the faculties at Washington and Jefferson College (1992), Indiana State University, and in the East Allegheny school district. 

      Mr. Lauffer is also the music director of the McKeesport Symphony Orchestra,  the Mon-Valley Youth Orchestra, and director of music at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center in Midland.    Maestro Lauffer is the new Music Director and Conductor of the Beaver Valley Philharmonic, in residence at LPPAC.  He resides in Jeannette, PA with his wife, Sharon, and children Benjamin, Brittany, Gregory and Robert.  He can be reached at maestropco@hotmail.com
